Two Firsts

Hi,

This is the first time I've managed consecutive listings!!! Plus, it's also the first time I'm entering my card into a challenge. I'm entering it into Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar challenge, which has been designed by Mina. This is the first time I've made a card to a 'pattern', but must admit I quite enjoyed it.

I must apologise for using the same image as I did in yesterdays, but they are just too darn cute. I only received them yesterday and I couldn't wait to get them inked up.

The flowers and seam bnding are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is from Lili of theValley which I've stamped with Tim Holtz 'Stormy Sky' distess ink.

I've coloured her in copics,

Shoes and tights: E40, E41, E42, E43 and E44
Dress and Ribbons: B0000, B000, B00 and B02
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11 and R20
I was experimenting with the hair and can't remember which colours I used, sorry.

I've used Magnolia Blue Rose paper, and bling bazzill from my stash. I've used my favourite thngs Die-namics for the crochet border and the doilie.

I'll try my best to be back soon, and it won't be with a hAnglar stamp-I promise, lol.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, kids are back at school tomorrow so back to the old routine.

Would have been my first challenge entry

I'm both miffed and happy at this moment in time. I made this card to enter in my first challenge, only to find out it closed 6 minutes before I went to enter it, it was for lovely hAnglar only challenge takes 2. That is the miffed part the happy part is; not only did I manage to get my little mits on these lovely stamps from hAnglar stAnglar, which arrived this morning, but I also received my spring club kit from Magnolia AND I received my favourite things Die-damics dies that i had been waiting for. Happy happy happy :).

Anyway, here's my card

Apologies for the photo, that's going to have to be the next thing I fathom out. They're both from the hAnglar kit 'Attitude', and I think they're just devine. I've coloured them with copics, but as kids are pestering for their tea I've not got time to get the exact colours but the brown clothes are E40 to E47, and the red is R30-R39. I've not got a clue to the hair colours. The sitting girls' buckle has been embossed in gold-it had to be done.
The paper is from Magnolia So Special collection, and imagine my delight when I found matching bazzill in my stash. I've used Magnolia Doohickeys and my nesties. The flowers are from wild orchid crafts.

I've recently srated to decorate the inside of the card to match the front, and think it's a really striking effect.

This card is available on eBay, along with the handmade box made to fit this card.

Oh well, I'll have to look for another challenge to be my first, lol.

Have a nice weekend,

Becky xx

New Addition To Our Family

The kids are off for half term so once again I have some time to keep this up to date. I know if I'm to get to the standard of some of the blogs out there I need to be more dedicated, but it's finding the time with work, my 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter, when my baby starts school in September I'll have more time, supposedly, lol.

When the kids are home I have plenty of time to colour images, surf the net buying more things and looking at blogs, but when they're at school and nursery I have timeto go into the attic and assemble all of my cards-which is where my blog name comes from 'attic-crafter'. My husband has a grumble though, asking when I'm going to tidy it up, and isn't pleased when I tell him I'm not as I know where everything is and as it's out of the way, the door can be shut and no one gets to see!!

We've recently had a new addition to our family, my husbands great Neice. Here is the card I made for her.

The image is from house mouse which I've coloured with copics. The swirl and the border are Magnolia's Doohickeys. I made the inside of the card the same as the front, minus the sentiment, flowers and bow and I was really pleased witht he effect. I've not got a picture of this as my husband had already written. it out.

I should have a few more cards on here soon as I've got a few in the making for birthdays. I've been looking around some of the challenges and I'm also contemplating entering some.

Take care and enjoy your day,

Becky x

First Post

Hi I'm Becky,

This is something I've been wanting to set up for a while now, I'm off work today with a poorly little boy so I thought this is the time. I'm releatively new to card making, and I want to have this blog so that I can keep a record of the cards that I make. In the short time I've been making them I've noticed how my style is changing. I'm also not that hot with computers, so I'll have to muddle my way through everything.

This is one of the first cards I made and was proud enough of to photograph, it was for a christening last year. I welcome any comments, good or bad, lol.
