Midsummer Tilda

Hi everyone, these weeks are going by so fast. I'm here with a card for another challenge at Tilda's Town Challenges. This week we want to see your cards with a celebration theme. I was asked by one of the classroom assistants at the kids' school if I could make a card for her friends daughter for her prom. This set my cogs in motion, and this is the outcome.

I was asked to put her name on, where the prom is 'Hardwick Hall' and the date. I've coloured Midsummer Tilda with the new summer Tim Holtz distress ink pad in picked raspberry, and the rest is with my distress markers. The letter dies are using a Tim Holtz die. The silk ribbon, topstitch thread and the button twine are all from The Ribbon Girl.

The paper is from Bo Bunny, and the edges have been distressed with a Tim Holtz distress tool. The flowers are from WOC.

Have a look at the fabulous inspiration the girls have created over at Tilda's Town Challenges and remember the prize up for grabs is a voucher to use at Tilda's Town and there's free P&P wherever you are in the world ;)

Heart Balloon Marci

Hi everyone, time for me to show you another GDT card for Inspiration Monday at La La Land Crafts, and this week we're bringing you the theme of Happy Birthday.

I've coloured Heart Balloon Marci with Distress Reinkers. I decided on this colour scheme, which is so far away from what I'm used to, but when I went to make the card I could not find any paper to go with it (lesson to be learnt here methinks). I managed to find these scraps, and I was so pleased as they go perfectly.

I've distressed the edges with a distress tool, and machine sewn them using the topstitch thread from The Ribbon Girl, the gorgeous ruffle ribbon is also from there. I was contemplating not putting any flowers on, but that thought soon passed and I settled for a few roses from Wild Orchid Craft.

Pop over to La La Land Crafts blog, you will be amazed at the work there, and remember to pop back on Friday when there is another set of cards for you to see.

Hugs,

Ribbon Girl Strawberries and Cream Giveaway

Now that we're well into 'Summer' (even though it feels more like Autumn here in the UK) we thought it was time to have a Summer giveaway - and what better than strawberries and cream! All you have to do is be a follower of the Ribbon Girls Blog, leave a comment and mention this giveaway on your blog. We were inspired by the beautiful red fruit bias binding with the red lace edge, the scrumptious prize worth around £15 includes the following and we will mail it anywhere in the world (the strawberries aren't included, just there to make your mouth water lol)

One metre each of 16mm red saddlestitch, 25mm red gingham, red fruit lace edge bias binding, 15mm large check red gingham, red microdot satin ribbon, 19mm red twill stripe ribbon, 32mm cream fine cluny floral lace, a half metre piece of ivory pearl rose organza trim, a metre of cream zig zag lace, a metre of 25mm cream satin, two large butterfly, two strawberry and two cherry charms.

Twisted Easel

Hi everyone, if all goes to plan I'm away for my little girl's birthday weekend and Mr. Blogger is playing nice and is posting this scheduled post, fingers crossed.

It's time for another challenge at LHOSM. I was determined to only use Hanglar stamps for my DT cards here, but as I've just mentioned it was Grace's birthday on Friday and I'm back at work so what time I have had I've been rushing round like a headless chicken! So, as I didn't have any coloured Hanglars to choose from I'm using Tilda With Many Hearts which I'm ashamed to say, this is the first time this cutie has seen ink. This fortnight we want to see Easel Cards, and we're sponsored by Wild Orchid Crafts. Even though I was a bit rushed I decided to make a twisted easel card, it's the first time I've ever made one, but I've been pushing my boundaries a bit lately so I thought 'Why not?'.

The paper is from Magnolia, I'm not sure if I've left the bottom a bit plain though. It looked OK to me until I've just added this picture...... Once again I've distressed and sewn the edges using The Ribbon Girls top stitch thread. The roses and lilies are from WOC.

Here's a slightly different angle to try and show you the twisted easel.

And another showing the card that I've tucked in a packet behind Tilda. I've coloured her in with my Distress Ink Markers, and added loads of glamour dust to the hearts. I'm entering this into the 'Love and Heart' challenge at Mad About Magnolias. It's also getting entered into the anything goes challenge at Wild Orchid Challenges.

Pop over to Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia and have a look at the rest of the fabulous inspiration the DT girls have for you.

Hugs,

Grace

Hi everyone, it's midway at Totally Tilda so you have just short of a week to enter your pennant/bunting creations. The prize this time is a voucher for Bunnyzoes. Regular followers of my blog will see I made a pennant for my son's room on Wednesday, well having two children I can't leave one out so another creation out of my comfort zone for my daughters door.

I used the same xcut die for the pennant, and although I used cordinations card I didn't sand it, it was just the colour I needed. Before I glued both of the pennants together I used double sided tape and stuck the lace down, I'm sorry I don't know where it's from it was lying on my desk and was just the right length. Watercan Tilda has been coloured in with distress inks. The seam binding is from the Ribbon Girl. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The letters have been cut out with a Tim Holtz die and covered in glamour dust.

If you're struggling for inspiration pop over to Totally Tilda and have a look at all of the stunning creations that my lovely teamies have come up with. I'm glad I only have two kids though, lol.

Miami Edwin

Hi Everyone,

I'm playing along with team B this week, as due to unforseen circumstances we're a girl down, big hugs to you hun.
This week at Tilda's Town we want to see Edwin on your cards.

My Uncle was 60 on 7th June, and I made this card for him. He is from England, but emigrated to New Jersey a long time ago. He got married in Miami in 2010 and they pop down there a couple of times a year, they're actually wanting to retire there, so Edwin in Miami was the perfect choice for him.

The papers are from my cherished Maja design pad, I've distressed the edges with Walnut Stain and decorated the inside to match. The button twine is from The Ribbon Girl and I picked the shell charm up off eBay. The bunting is a doohickey die and the die cut letters are from a Cheery Lynn die. The sentiment is from LOTV.

I've coloured Edwin in with Distress markers, and used chalks for the background. I'm also entering this into the 'Welcome Summer' at Deep Ocean Challenge, and 'Anything Goes' at Wild Orchid Challenge.

Pop over to Tilda's Town and have a look at the stunning cards my team mates have come up with for your inspiration, the prize up for grabs is $15 voucher to spend at Tilda's Town and there's no P&P no matter the size of your order.

William

Hi everyone, it's Team A's turn this week at Midweek Magnolias, and this week we want to see anything other than a card. I can tell you this is so out of my comfort zone. I don't really do things that aren't cards.

So, I thought I'd make a pennant door sign for my son's bedroom. We live in an old house and we had the doors dipped and waxed and the flash has exposed little bits of paint in the cracks that we've missed. I used a xcut pennant die to cut out the kraft cordinations card, and I've sanded it down to give it an aged look. Edwin With Aeroplane has been coloured with distress inks and I've used the out of the box technique with my nesties. I've used button twine from the ribbon girl to hang it. The letters have been cut out using my Tim Holtz die. For some reason I started gluing before I placed everything down and I thought the second 'L' was just past the middle, so the wording was a bit lopsided, so I decided to attach a charm.

Pop over to Midweek Magnolias and have a look at the amazing inspiration the DT have over there.

Watercan Marci

Hi everyone, today I'm here with another GDT card for La La Land and this weeks theme is Fun In The Sun. I made this card on Friday afternoon and left it to dry as I did the school run. When I left the house it was a bit sunny and a bit cloudy, and as I was running late I drove to the school When I got out of the car I could hear the rumble of thunder and could see the dark grey clouds slowly, but surely making their way over towards me. Literally as the door opened to let my daughters class out the heavens opened and I only had a thin cardie for protection. We ran to the car (which I was now grateful I came in) and the water was dripping off my hair and I was soaked, I had to take everything off. I then photographed my Fun In The Sun card, smiling at the irony (after I'd put dry clothes on though, lol).

I've coloured Watercan Marci with distress reinkers, and I've used chalks for the cloud background. I don't have much of a garden but I do like growing tomatoes, carrots, strawberries and flowers so in the summer (although not this summer in the UK, the amount of rain we've had) I potter round watering them, but at least they've just lifted the hosepipe ban!

I've used Seaside Chic papers from Raspberry Road, the edges have been distressed with a Tim Holtz distress tool and I've then machine sewn the edges using top stitch thread from The Ribbon Girl, the silk ribbon is also from there. I'm currently in a big bow phase, as you've probably noticed. The inside has been decorated to coordinate with the front.

Pop over to La La Land to have a look at the stunning cards the DT have created, and check back again on Friday for Inspiration Friday, you will not be disappointed.

Totally Tilda Challenge #49

Hi everyone, time for another challenge at Totally Tilda, this time we want to see your cards with Bunting/Pennants. We're sponsored by Bunny Zoe Crafts.

I've coloured Butterfly Tilda with Distress Markers, and used lots of glamour dust and liquid pearls. I've also used my new Floral Swirl Corner Die Doohickey, and my quickutz corner die.

Once again I've used Maja Design paper, I can't stay away from it lol, the edges have all been distressed with Walnut Stain and the inside has been decorated to match the front. The lovely lace is from The Ribbon Girl. I've made the bunting using dies from Whimsey and scraps of paper, the button twine is also from The Ribbon Girl.

Pop over to Totally Tilda and have a look at the amazing cards there.

Lazy Days of Summer at Tilda's Town

Hi everyone, it's once again Team A's time to host the challenge at Tilda's Town Challenges and we want to see your creations with the theme 'Lazy Days of Summer'.

I've coloured Water Lily Tilda with Distress Markers, and subtely added glamour dust. I've eventually got round to using my Tim Holtz on the edge doily die, I've had it for absolutely ages.

The papers are from Maja Design, and I've distressed the edges with Walnut Stain. The ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the blue swirls are by Magnolia.

Have a look at the inspiration that the girls have created at Tilda's Town, they really are a talented bunch.

3-2-1

Hi everyone, these weeks are flying by, it's time for a challenge at Midweek Magnolias. Before I show you my card I want to tell you about the changes over there, we've got a load of new teamies and we're going to be split into two teams. Our challenge this week is a recipe, 3 flowers, 2 buttons and 1 ribbon.

I've coloured Summer Flower Tilda with Distress Markers and limited edition Peacock Feathers reinker. The silk ribbon, top stitch thread, button twine and 5mm Pearls are all from The Ribbon Girl. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The paper is from Maja Design, and the edges have been distressed with a Tim Holtz distress tool. I tend not to do buttons, and what I could find didn't match the paper and then I remembered I had some button dies from Marianne design, so I cut them out from some scraps of Bazzill and then triple embossed with UTEE.

Pop over to Midweek Magnolias and have a look at the inspiration that the whole DT have provided, you must agree that we have had some amazing talent join our team. I'm entering this card into the anything goes challenge at Wild Orchid Challenge, the sewing challenge at Deep Ocean Challenge, the buttons and bows challenge at Whimsey Stamps Challenge, anything goes at Simon Says Stamp and Show  and Girls Girls Girls at Bunny Zoes Crafts.

Lovely Weather For Ducks

Hi everyone, where is the sun?? So much for flaming June! This weather is no good with two little kids, they just can't get their energy burnt off, but it's ideal for card making. I've made four cards today, three of them are DT cards and will be coming within the week, but the fourth I've made for fun and here it is.

I've made this card following the sketch over at Sketch Saturday, I've used stitching so it can also go in the challenge at Deep Ocean Challenges and there's also an anything goes challenge at TOMIC to celebrate their first birthday.

I've coloured Tilda with Daisy with Distress Markers. The silk ribbon and top stitch thread are from The Ribbon Girl. The papers are from Maja design and I've distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz distress tool.

I've added some glamour dust and a few liquid pearls. I hope this weather improves soon. We're off to a cottage in the Lakes for a week at the beginning of July, but I'll be taking some images and my Distress Markers just in case ;)

La La Land

Hi everyone, once again I have some amazing news, I've been asked to be GDT for the next two months at La La Land. Of course I said yes immediately, these stamps are just the cutest and come in digi and rubber, and there's just been a die release too. My first card as GDT is for the Aussie release showcase, here it is,

Isn't Kangaroo Marci just adorable?? The 'Best Mates' sentiment is from LLLC too. There's 4 images in this release, pop over here and have a look at them all. They're originally only available in Australia, but they're available to all at the end of July at CHA. I was so pleased that I managed to get my images printed onto my cold press card, but remember I said that the ink takes longer to dry-well that goes for the printer ink too. I went from being a happy little bunny to having the biggest pet lip in about 3 seconds. I then discovered I didn't have any Fabriano 5 left, so I had to use The Langton HP for the first time, and it's not as good as Fabriano, I'll just have to get them in rubber too.

The papers are from Nitwit and I've distressed the edges with Walnut Stain. The gorgeous lace is from The Ribbon Girl and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The inside has been decorated to match the front.

Pop over to La La Land Crafts Blog and have a look at the gorgeous work the DT have done, there's also the link there for the shop.
Hugs,
